Cigarettes After Sex was in need of deluxe and limited edition packaging for their most recent album Cry.
My starting point was the band’s distinct monochrome style rooted in the photography of the early 20th century. Following the influences of those artists, I looked further back in the history of photography for inspiration.
The solution was using a silver foil surface to emulate silver plate photography. The effect is a product that emulates the music and artwork: tumultuous yet calm, mysterious and hypnotic.
